چکیده
The pea aphid (PA), Acyrthosiphon pisum (Harris) (Hemiptera: Aphididae), can cause complete yield loss in lentil, Lens culinaris Medik. (Fabaceae, Leguminosae), if not managed properly. Determining lentil genetic resources with resistance to PA is important for integrated pest management (IPM) production areas worldwide. objectives of this study were identify and genes associated 188 lines the USDA Lentil Single Plant Core Collection. A cluster analysis mean number adults, nymphs, total aphids that developed on 10 days after infestation a single identified four clusters resistance: 20 considered resistant, 99 moderately 51 susceptible, 18 susceptible. PIs 329157 LSP 432085 LSP, originating from Iran, demonstrated best when assessing antibiotic antixenotic properties. Genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS)-based nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) used genome-wide association mapping locate or quantitative trait loci (QTL) traits, which six, four, three SNPs low numbers lines, respectively. Fifteen candidate relating resistance. results effectively be molecular breeding programs target specific genomic regions resistance, as well traditional breeding, using highly PA-resistant parents, develop durable cultivars.

Evaluation of Wild Lentil Species as Genetic Resources to Improve Drought Tolerance in Cultivated Lentil
Increasingly unpredictable annual rainfall amounts and distribution patterns have far reaching implications for pulse crop biology. Seedling and whole plant survival will be affected given that water is a key factor in plant photosynthesis and also influences the evolving disease spectrum that affects crops. The wild relatives of cultivated lentil are native to drought prone areas, making them ...
متن کاملGenetic Control of Contagious Asexuality in the Pea Aphid
Although evolutionary transitions from sexual to asexual reproduction are frequent in eukaryotes, the genetic bases of such shifts toward asexuality remain largely unknown. We addressed this issue in an aphid species where both sexual and obligate asexual lineages coexist in natural populations. These sexual and asexual lineages may occasionally interbreed because some asexual lineages maintain...
متن کاملCharacterization of pea aphid resistance in Medicago truncatula.
To achieve a thorough understanding of plant-aphid interactions, it is necessary to investigate in detail both the plant and insect side of the interaction. The pea aphid (PA; Acyrthosiphon pisum) has been selected by an international consortium as the model species for genetics and genomics studies, and the model legume Medicago truncatula is a host of this aphid. In this study, we identified ...
متن کاملGenetic Mapping of a Major Resistance Gene to Pea Aphid (Acyrthosipon pisum) in the Model Legume Medicago truncatula
Resistance to the Australian pea aphid (PA; Acyrthosiphon pisum) biotype in cultivar Jester of the model legume Medicago truncatula is mediated by a single dominant gene and is phloem-mediated. The genetic map position for this resistance gene, APR (Acyrthosiphon pisum resistance), is provided and shows that APR maps 39 centiMorgans (cM) distal of the A. kondoi resistance (AKR) locus, which med...
